RAVANNA IN BATTLE.
ravana sent many more rakshasa warriors, they fought valiantly but were killed by hanuman,sugriva and angada, so, he decided to go to the battlefield himself and rode in a great chariot. ramasaw the majestic ten-headed warrior and resolved to defeat him somehow.but ravana fought with great cougar and killed many vaanaras. seeing this, sugriva was angry and came forward to attack the rakshasa.a great battle followed later between ravana and lakshmana,who fell down unconscious.hanuman carried lakshmana away on his shoulders.
then rama came to fight with ravana. his arrows broke the rakshasa's chariot, killed the charioteer and also deprived him of all his weapons. ravana stood helpless before rama. ''you have fought well to day!go now and rest, we shall resume the battle tomorrow!'' rama told him. ravana shamefacedly retreated to his place.
ravana smarted from this humiliation and vowed to defeat rama somehow.''KUMBAKARNA has just begun his six-monyh long sleep. but i need his help urgently and must waken him up!'' ravana decided desperately.due to a curse kumbakarna slept for months and as ravana has just said,kumbakarna's sleep period had begun a few days ago, so ,it would be a mammoth task to awaken the sleeping giant.
