Sitas's Birth.

sitas'sbirth.the kingdom of videha,whose capital was mithila,was ruled by king janaka.once king janaka was ploughing the field before the start of ''yaaga''.he found a beautiful baby girl lying among the furrows. as king janaka was childless, he loooked up on the baby girl as mother earth'sgift to him.he named her sita.as she was found in the furrow at the ''yaaga' site!''exclaimed his happy queen, they did not know that the beautiful child was really the goddes lakshmi reborn as a human being.sita grew up to a very beautiful maiden, educated, talented and charming.as he reached marrigeable age ,king janaka and his queen decided that they could give her in marrige only to a man who was truly worthy in every respect. king janaka had a great bow given to him by lord siva.it was very big and so heavy that an ordinary man could not be able to lift it. a out standing man only do so.the king janaka proclaimed throughout his kingdom that great''yaaga''would first be held, followed by a ''swayamvara''for sita's hand viswamitra, who knew who sita was, decided to take rama to mithila and so unite the divine couple.on the way to mithila, they crass the sage gautama's ashrama.and heard about the curse of ahaiya.''rama only you can redeem ahalya from the curse. do release her quickly!''.said viswamitra.rama gently place his foot on the stone .and lo!at the touch of rama's foot the stone was transformed in to a beautiful women.it was ahalya.cleansed of her sin. ''o ahalya!you have been purified by rama's touch ,so i accept you as my wife once more!'' said gautama.rama was happy that he could help ahayla.and the they reached the city of mithila.
