Rama,sita and lakshmana entered the kaikeyi's royal apartment.king dasaratha raised his head and saw with agony, his beloved son,rama,clad in ascetic apparel. he cried broken-heartedly ,''o rama!forgive me for the great worng i have done to you!''
'' father, you have not done any wrong.we have come to take leave. sita and lakshmana have decided to go to the forest. do not grieve, father ,but comfort my mother in her sorrow. let bharata be crowned instead ,and be happy. the fourteen years of my exile will pass verv soon.
and i will back in ayodhya safely!'' rama said gently, his face betraying no emotion.dasaratha felt defeated.king dasaratharan after the chariot carring rama,sita, and lakshmana,also
queen kausalyaand queen sumitratoo followed the chariot.the people of ayodhya ran behind.waiting to catch a last glimpse of rama, sita and lakshmana, though many of them wanted to live inthe forest with the exiles.
