KAIKEYI DEMANDS HER BOONS.dasaratha went to kaikeyi's palace.the king was surprised to see her .he was even more upset to see her lying,clad in old garment ,on the bare floor.'' what happened? tell me and i shall punish him at once!''he sat down beside her. when kaikeyi did not reply, the king repeated his question and premised to do whatever she wanted.
kaikeyi sat up and said '' do you promised to do what ever i say?''''yes i swear on the head of rama that will obey you!''said king dasaratha.'' remember ,o king , that long ago, i had saved your life on the battlefield. in gratitude, you had offered me two boons. i told you that i would ask for them later.''''yes ,ishall certainly give you your two boons''.said dasaratha.''then my first request is that you should crown bharata isstead of rama. my second boon is that you should exile rama to the forest to live like an ascetic for fourteen years'', kaikeyi said.
